Announcements

We've hired a new Executive Director!

As you likely know by now, Lynae Hanson, our current Executive Director, plans to retire this summer to paint, travel, and spend more time with family. We began searching for a new executive director in March and are happy to announce we’ve now hired Lynae’s successor, Cherise Pfaff.

Cherise has most recently been teaching art at Shiloh Christian School. She grew up in a non-profit family environment and is also an accomplished artist. Cherise plans to work part-time now through mid-August, shadowing Lynae through the Capital A’Fair, before she steps into the role full-time.

Please give Cherise a warm welcome! You can reach her at 701-223-5986 or [email protected].

Public Art Projects in the works in Mandan and Bismarck!

Our two grant-supported art projects have kicked off and we hope you’ll follow along or participate.

Mandan’s Window Wonderland Scavenger Hunt started Friday, June 28 and ends Friday, July 26. Look for painted windows along Mandan’s Main Street and grab a scavenger hunt form from a participating business to search for special items in each window. We’re giving away $175 in Mandan Bucks on July 30th. Thanks to Mandan Progress Organization for the grant!

Ten artists have also started their canvases wrapped around trees for the Canvas Enchantment project supported by a ND Department of Commerce Vibrancy Grant. We’ll hold a couple of public paint days on the Capitol grounds and then hang the canvas illusions up during the Capital A’Fair.

Follow both these events on our Facebook page.
